The Emotional Spectrum of «Care»: An Interdisciplinary Overview

Despite the numerous and significant contributions of the last decades, the literature on care still lacks a proper interdisciplinary approach showing its multiple connections with different types of emotions and able to overcome misleading dichotomies. Only by looking at the emotional dimensions of care in an interdisciplinary perspective and with broader phenomenological lenses we can overcome current limited interpretations of both care and emotions. This is what the collection Emotions and Care: Interdisciplinary Perspectives does. What is mostly striking about this book is its ability to convey a critical integration of current literature on care – quite often skewed towards a predominant Anglo-Saxon literature – without dismantling the existing scholarship, and actually making it more meaningful and exhaustive, whilst simultaneously providing the reader with an in-depth, enjoyable journey throughout the endless nuances of the phenomenon of care.
