Obesity is described as a risk factor for stress urinary incontinence (SUI), due to high intraabnominal pressure. The chronic increase in intra-abdominal pressure could cause damage of pelvic floor because of injury to nerve and muscular structures. The surgical treatments of SUI appear to be less effective in obese patients. The aim of the study is to verify if the Body Mass Index (BMI) could influence the efficacy of TOT procedure in women affected of SUI.

Abstract
Obesity is described as a risk factor for stress urinary incontinence (SUI), due to high intraabnominal pressure. The chronic increase in intra-abdominal pressure could cause damage of pelvic floor because of injury to nerve and muscular structures. The surgical treatments of SUI appear to be less effective in obese patients. The aim of the study is to verify if the Body Mass Index (BMI) could influence the efficacy of TOT procedure in women affected of SUI.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
