This dialectic, which the lockdown applied in many countries as a measure to contain the infection from Cavid-19 has relaunched in dramatic terms, is variously declined in the contributions presented in this issue of Contesti through: methodological discussions; literature surveys and case study researches. Abstract

The dialectic between "movements and mooring" is the pivot of the studies on "new mobilities". This last is an interdisciplinary approach to the different forms of short and long-range nomadism of the contemporary world, which broadens, putting it somehow into question, a concept of mobility almost exclusively focused on the technical, managerial and infrastructural aspects of the different "modes of transport". This dialectic, which the lockdown applied in many countries as a measure to contain the infection from Cavid-19 has relaunched in dramatic terms, is variously declined in the contributions presented in this issue of Contesti through: methodological discussions; literature surveys and case study researches. The articles give a complex picture of both challenges and opportunities to be faced in the perspective of a paradigm shift of mobility, in order to make it more environmentally sustainable as well as more centred on people than on vehicles.
