Identity and innovation for the Revitalization of historic villages. Dialogue on Mediterranean living experience, Identità e Innovazione per la valorizzazione dei borghi storici Dialogo sull’abitare mediterraneo

Retracing the challenge launched by AbitareMediterraneo research, the paper presents, as a dialogue between the two authors, the experience developed by their research group in the field of sustainable architecture and above all the role played by technological product and process innovation in the transformations of the building heritage, also embracing theme of the enhancement of living systems present in inner and rural Mediterranean areas. This highly topical issue was addressed within the ViViMed international cooperation project. The innovative value is to stimulate the creative capacity of the communities still present or to be activated in the area, pushing the networking of tourist services, promoting good eco-compatibility practices both in the requalification and management of the architectural heritage and in the setting of tourist services / products, to live an immersive hospitality experience and authentic storytelling of the territorial identity.
