The article focuses on the patronage of the del Bene family and on their chapel in the church of Santi Apostoli in Florence. The author attributes the portrait of the Florentine banker Pietro del Bene to Benedetto da Rovezzano (1478 ca. - 1552 ca.), and contextualizes the bust and the memorial that houses it within the history of the family and the refurbishing of the parish in Piazza del Limbo. The stucco tabernacle with Saint Paul, which echoes the forms of the sixteenth-century monument and is part of the renovations of the church following the momentous flood of 1740, is ascribed to Girolamo Ticciati (1676-1744).
