L’intervento generale progettato ha previsto il restauro delle parti esistenti sui lati Est e Nord e la ricomposizione delle parti demolite, in particolare l’ala Ovest, il completamento dell’ala Sud e la ricostruzione della torre sull’accesso principale che, durante la sequenza storica, ha assunto forme e dimensioni diverse, affacciata sul fronte Nord verso la piazza.
