Much has been written about the relationship between body and Christianity, therefore there could be a risk of being repetitive. Nevertheless, three main aspects seems to be still worthy of further study, that is (1) asceticism in early Christianity, (2) experiencing the body, (3) how to narrate the experience of the body. Thee authors of this tematic session have all endeavored to focus their analysis on them. The four case studies here collected focus on: Origen, martyr literature, the 'Life of Syncletica' and Tertullian's 'On fasting'.

Thee authors of this tematic session have all endeavored to focus their analysis on them.
