We present a method, developed by us, to measure the inner scale of the atmospheric turbulence. The method is based on measurements of differential angle of arrival of laser radiation propagated in the atmosphere. It allows one to measure the inner scale at intermediate distances, lower that hundred meters where methods based on scintillation (NOAA or SCINTEX Instruments) work. Experimental results are shown and comparison with some our previous results show that this method is also suitable for inner scale local measurements.

Abstract

We present a method, developed by us, to measure the inner scale of the atmospheric turbulence. The method is based on measurements of differential angle of arrival of laser radiation propagated in the atmosphere. It allows one to measure the inner scale at intermediate distances, lower that hundred meters where methods based on scintillation (NOAA or SCINTEX Instruments) work. Experimental results are shown and comparison with some our previous results show that this method is also suitable for inner scale local measurements.
