Abstract

A compact circularly polarized patch antenna for operation in C-band is presented. The shape of the patch is inspired to a multilobate contour, derived as a perturbation of a conventional circular patch antennas. The antenna design is suitable for generating Circularly Polarized far-fields, exploiting the mechanism of modal degeneration. Controlling the additional parameter defining the shape of the profile a fine tuning of the central frequency of operation is possible in feasible way.
