Da diverso tempo nella città di Firenze è attivo un acceso e serrato dibattito circa il destino dello Stadio Comunale Artemio Franchi. L’opera, prestigioso e tutelato esempio dell’architettura del ‘900, fu progettata e realizzata da Pier Luigi Nervi tra il 1929 e il 1932 e pur subendo nel tempo varie modifiche è rimasta integralmente intatta nelle sue linee essenziali e nelle sue straordinarie peculiarità architettoniche e per questo opera molto studiata e conosciuta in tutto il mondo. L’articolo prende motivata posizione per la sua salvaguardia e per un suo equilibrato ammodernamento funzionale che non pregiudichi il valore storico dell’opera e del progetto di Pier Luigi Nervi. For some time in the city of Florence there has been a heated and intense debate about the fate of the Artemio Franchi Municipal Stadium. The work, a prestigious and protected example of 20th century architecture, was designed and built by Pier Luigi Nervi between 1929 and 1932 and despite undergoing various modifications over time, it has remained fully intact in its essential lines and in its extraordinary architectural features and for this work much studied and known all over the world. The article takes a justified position for its protection and for its balanced functional modernization that does not affect the historical value of the work and of the project by Pier Luigi Nervi.
