According to a particular version of the Embodied Cognition also known as Radical Enactivism, there are forms of intelligent behavior that admit an explanation without implying the attribution of intentional contents and intensional modes of presentation to agents. Contrary to this view, in this article I show that, if one adopts a definition of intelligent behavior as having purpose and flexibility, then there are reasons to argue that the explanation of such behaviors requires the attribution to agents of intentional content and intensional modes of presentation.

Abstract
According to a particular version of the Embodied Cognition also known as Radical Enactivism, there are forms of intelligent behavior that admit an explanation without implying the attribution of intentional contents and intensional modes of presentation to agents. Contrary to this view, in this article I show that, if one adopts a definition of intelligent behavior as having purpose and flexibility, then there are reasons to argue that the explanation of such behaviors requires the attribution to agents of intentional content and intensional modes of presentation.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
