Freewalk - internationale Untersuchungen zum Kompoststall als innovatives Rinderhaltungssystem mit freier Liegefläche

For the first time, compost barns were analyzed in more detail across national borders. The Eu project "Freewalk" was able to present important results in various working packages and shed light on the correct management of such a system. The function of this housing system with intensive consideration of animal welfare was compared with the state of the art of the cubicle housing system. Numerous analyzes were carried out in 44 pilot farms from 6 countries (Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and the Netherlands), which were divided into 21 compost barns systems and 20 cubiclo housing systems.
