Abstract

The multi-level dimension of sustainability of the anthropic environment is a consolidated idea at international level. The scientific approach contributes to foster the environmental conscious design, through green and adaptive solutions. The human and cultural aspects are focused on the increasing the end user knowledge, the awareness about complexity and interrelated issues, such as the management and operation of the building, as well as the rational use of energy resources, the dynamic use of the space inside and outside the building. In this way is possible to ensure well-being, stimulating quality of experience, proactive behavior and consciousness. The paper shares the experience of the international project Med-EcoSuRe Mediterranean University as Catalyst for Eco-Sustainable Renovation with a focus on the integrated approach based on the Living Lab / Digital Twin, experimented in the pilot project of Santa Verdiana. This leads to the development of broader and more systemic, real and dynamic cognitive framework where the data on the building’s performance interact with the data on the internal environment, with the perception of the inhabitant and with the parameters of well-being. In particular, the role of the Well Living Lab will be highlighted as an accelerator of a cognitive process and an increased predictive method, organized around three essential elements: the building organism (physical site ), the digital twin (predictive tool), the monitoring system (experiential data) that interfaces with the real site and the virtual model. The challenge posed by the project is very ambitious and aims to experience a synergy between an experiential approach and digital transition, as a driver of the process of sustainable regeneration of the built, eco-logical, inclusive and healthy environment.
