Quantitative maps of CMRGlu (mumol/min/100g) from FDG-PET are useful in neurodegenerative disorders studies but require practical methods to be used in the clinical routine. We propose a method based on aortic image-derived input function (IF) and the quantification methods from Sokoloff and Patlak. Five patients were analyzed with the proposed method and numerical simulations were designed to test the bias that can affect CMRGlu estimates. © 2011 IEEE.

Abstract

Quantitative maps of CMRGlu (mumol/min/100g) from FDG-PET are useful in neurodegenerative disorders studies but require practical methods to be used in the clinical routine. We propose a method based on aortic image-derived input function (IF) and the quantification methods from Sokoloff and Patlak. Five patients were analyzed with the proposed method and numerical simulations were designed to test the bias that can affect CMRGlu estimates. © 2011 IEEE.
