Digital technologies have affected all areas of human life, giving rise to great and rapid social, cultural and economic changes, which have radically modified people's lifestyles, habits and working methods. Co-working, home working, smart working, and remote teamwork are all new working methods that have emerged in recent years, thanks to connective technologies. These technologies have changed the concept of time and space in the workplace. The COVID-19 health emergency has accelerated the change already underway in the world of office work, placing smart working as the main model, most likely in an irreversible way. Therefore, both the advantages and the various problems related to this working model were highlighted. In this scenario, our team focused on these research questions: - Which solutions can provide design to the current challenges of reducing the effects of smart-working-related stress, always-on and sedentary lifestyle? - Which office spaces and furniture can we imagine in the post-Covid era to improve the experience in the context of smart working? The article presents a design experimentation, coordinated by IDEE Lab, University of Florence, that explores new furniture scenarios for smart working and home working. The access of new generations in the world of work, millennials, and Generation Z, requires a radical rethinking and innovation of tools, furniture, and workspaces, for addressing needs and expectations of these new clusters of users, that exclusively use new working methods.
