For years, in women with preterm premature rupture of membranes between 34þ0 and 36þ6 weeks (late pPROM) labor was induced to avoid the risk of intra- amniotic infection and of neonatal sepsis. However, late-preterm newborns have an increased incidence of adverse outcomes compared to those born at term, and studies shown that expectant management compared to immediate delivery may improve neonatal outcome without increasing the risk of intraamniotic infection or neonatal sepsis. We investigated neonatal outcomes in relation to gestational age (GA) at the delivery and the interval between pPROM and delivery, in women with late pPROM.
