Il coordinatore pedagogico dei servizi per l’infanzia: una professionalità in fieri

The article reconstructs in their general lines the social, cultural and educational motivations that have led to the birth of the professional figure of the pedagogical coordinator of the ECEC (Early Childhood Education and Care) services in Italy. It also shows how this figure has been introduced in a stable way within the educational team in the public and private sector through regional rules in the absence of a national legislative framework. Finally, the article illustrates the functions and main competences needed to carry out the pedagogical coordination profession, highlighting the impact of its work in terms of accessibility and quality.
