Vernacular Heritage belongs to cultures grounded on memory and tradition. The Italian postwar “anthropological caesura”, caused by socio-economic factors, led to a refusal of traditional buildings often with the purpose to repel a humble past; however this was followed by the acquisition of awareness of the past, engendering regret and safeguarding needs, even if often with negative results.
