Risk of acute infections in psoriatic patients during biologic therapies is linked to gender

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease and in its more severe clinical forms a biologic treatment is mandatory. The risk of infections in psoriasis patients can be increased due to the longlasting immunosoppressive treatment before starting a biologic treatment. Most of our data are in accordance with those of the literature, even if the most relavant element of our study is that gender does represent a risk factor for infections in psoriasis patients.
