The current and complex framework of the study of languages, especially English, now offers a key insight to understand not only language change, but also the role of neuroscience in such change. In this research, which is part of a wider project, our aim is to compare the diachronic development of the English language through the textual analysis of some Bible translations in order to verify its discursive identity. Today we are facing a deep modification of linguistic identity: telegraphic language now imposes itself as a style that highlights the immediacy of understanding and facilitates international communication. We have selected the following Bible translations: Wycliffe, Tyndale, King James, New King James, 1881 English Revised Version, 1982 New King James Version and in the 50 chapters of Genesis we have compared several linguistic parameters through manual counting and statistical comparison. The results have confirmed our hypothesis: a deep modification of linguistic identity.
