We propose a compact antenna printed on a commercial substrate and optimized for obtaining the maximum gain in the radio channels assigned to the Intelligent Transportation System, with particular emphasis on the central frequency of 5.8 GHz. The design of the antenna is based on the concepet of series-fed array, applied to a modified rectangular patch. Measurements confirm simulations results, with a maximum gain of 9.4 dB at 5.8 GHz and 4 dB at 5.9 GHz, as well as a reasonable gain from 5.2 GHz to 6.4 GHz.

Abstract
We propose a compact antenna printed on a commercial substrate and optimized for obtaining the maximum gain in the radio channels assigned to the Intelligent Transportation System, with particular emphasis on the central frequency of 5.8 GHz. The design of the antenna is based on the concepet of series-fed array, applied to a modified rectangular patch. Measurements confirm simulations results, with a maximum gain of 9.4 dB at 5.8 GHz and 4 dB at 5.9 GHz, as well as a reasonable gain from 5.2 GHz to 6.4 GHz.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
