Ipertrofica immediatezza. Da Instant City a Instagram, il progetto nella società delle immagini [Hypertrophic immediacy. From Instant City to Instagram, the project in the society of images]

Stiamo vivendo un tempo che strutturalmente si sottrae a ogni tentativo di fornirci un’idea di futuro, una visione generale, un orizzonte. Mai, come in questo periodo, l’umanità si è vista ridurre se non addirittura sottrarre gli immaginari capaci di proiezione e di apertura rispetto all’invadente inafferrabilità di futuro. Nel contingente è addirittura successo qualcosa di inimmaginabile: una Pandemia. Senza ricorso all’immaginazione, ma obbligati dall’evitare il peggio, stiamo sperimentando modalità di vita e di organizzazione del lavoro, mai prima d’ora così appiattite in spazi di intimità ristretta (le nostre case) dove coesistono a fatica inconsapevole e in certi casi, con confuse sovrapponibilità, ruoli professionali e responsabilità familiari. Stiamo sperimentando una nuova abitabilità sia fisica che mentale. Costretti all’isolamento forzato e inconsapevolmente messi a testare le nostre abitudini, siamo portati ad astrarci, a perimetrarci in uno spazio digitale senza tempo impreparato ad essere arredato e spazializzato come invece da abitudine sappiamo fare di un ambiente tridimensionale in cui fino ad ora siamo vissuti. /// We are living in a time that structurally eludes any attempt to provide us with an idea of the future, a general vision, a horizon. Never, as in this period, has humanity seen its imaginaries capable of projection and openness removed from the intrusive elusiveness of the future. Something unimaginable has even happened in the contingent: a Pandemic. Without recourse to imagination, but obliged by the avoidance of the worst, we are experimenting with ways of living and organising work that have never before been so flattened in spaces of restricted intimacy (our homes) where professional roles and family responsibilities coexist with unconscious fatigue and in some cases, with confused overlapping. We are experiencing a new habitability, both physical and mental. Forced into isolation and unconsciously put to the test of our habits, we are led to abstract ourselves, to perimeter ourselves in a timeless digital space unprepared to be furnished and spatialised as we have been accustomed to a three-dimensional environment in which we have lived until now.
