I cattolici e la ricostruzione (1943-1952)

Catholics and Reconstruction (1943-1952) · In the years of reconstruction Alcide De Gasperi’s governments made a series of strategic choices that marked Italy’s development model. The purpose of this paper is to examine the role played by the Catholics of the Christian Democrat party in the definition and implementation of the economic policy of reconstruction. The paper is divided into four parts, chronologically ordered. In the first part, we will summarize the economic program elaborated by Catholics on the eve of the Constituent Assembly. In the remaining parts, we will examine the strategic choices made in the following years.
