La rinnovazione naturale della douglasia in Toscana

The European path towards climate neutrality and the growing demand in Europe for low carbon impact forest resources constitute a favorable situation for the enhancement of local forest-wood supply chains. The option of promoting a tree species with high productivity and high parameters in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), such as douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) will be analyzed for Tuscany, presenting the results of the project Do.Na.To. (Douglasiete Naturali Toscane). Our presentation will focus in particular on the analysis of environmental situations and silvicultural models that allow the natural renewal of this species, increasing its relevance in terms of ecosystem services, landscape and rural development.
