Prospettive di sviluppo della coltivazione della douglasia in Toscana

Forest planning at supra-propriety level allows to build scenarios for the sustainable management of the wood resource and the associated forest-wood supply chains. The results of a survey carried out among the partners of the Douglasiete Naturali Toscane (Do.Na.To.) project funded by the Tuscany region will be reported in order to promote the natural regeneration of douglas-fir in Tuscany, to propose a regional planning and to create a supply chain aimed at the enhancement of wood products. This kind of planning aims to create a program that manages in a lasting way about 1,200,000 cubic meters of wood which, in the current favorable market situation, "risks" to be liquidated in a very short time with consequent shortage of wood on the local market for the next few decades.
