Abstract
The first Douglas-fir tree was introduced in Tuscany at the end of the 1800 century, then planted in few areas in Tuscany, followed by experimental plantations in 1930, afforestation/reforestation after II World War, and IUFRO provenance plantations. We will present the main results of the Do.Na.To (Douglasiete Naturali Toscane) project, a regionally funded project on the contribution of douglas-fir for mitigate and adapt to climate change, assessing douglas-fir growth potentiality, particularly in the oldest plantations now about 90 years old, seed production and natural regeneration of monospecific even-age douglas-fir plantations, and finally use of wood in short-supply chain.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
