Collaborations and co-authorships are more and more typical in scientific research. Scientific collaboration has several advantages with regard to productivity, but it also has drawbacks. In this paper, we analyse the Italian community of management scholars intending to investigate their areas of interest, the main research themes, and the main publishing journals of this community. Secondly, we carry out a co-authorship analysis to investigate the evolution of the publication behaviours and co-authorship dynamics of this community. A Scopus search was performed on the 649 Italian management scholars identified for 2019 to collect their Scopus IDs, with each ID uniquely identifying a scholar. A total of 550 Scopus IDs were collected, representing 84.7% of the 649 scholars. We then downloaded all 5,294 publications from these scholars listed in Scopus for the period 2000-2019. A social network analysis was then applied to co-authorship publication data to analyse co-authorship dynamics and publication behaviour in four windows. Different co-authorship behaviour has been highlighted through ego-networks and linear regression models have been performed to investigate if the outputs of Italian management scholars is determined by their position in the overall community network and their propensity to collaborate with others. Results underline that Italian management scholars increase their publication production either in quantity or in quality from different perspectives in the period. However, co-authorship dynamics increase hugely in the period underlining new publishing behaviours (also at different job position levels) that have to be considered in the future either for University evaluation policy or recruiting procedures.
