This paper presents a low profile filtenna designed for C-band applications. The proposed device exploits a rectangular patch antenna with parasites and directly connected to a compact filter, realized etching out properly designed spirals from the patch feeding line. The proposed structure is suitable for signals between 5.6 GHz to 5.8 GHz, such as DSRC at 5.8 GHz, rejecting WAVE at 5.9 GHz

Abstract

This paper presents a low profile filtenna designed for C-band applications. The proposed device exploits a rectangular patch antenna with parasites and directly connected to a compact filter, realized etching out properly designed spirals from the patch feeding line. The proposed structure is suitable for signals between 5.6 GHz to 5.8 GHz, such as DSRC at 5.8 GHz, rejecting WAVE at 5.9 GHz
