Wind Turbines spread has characterized the last decades. At this time electric power generation systems based on wind turbines are experiencing revived interest due to the recognized need of a green transition. Commonly the power conversion stage of a wind turbine system consists of a Back-to-Back converter. The Back-to-Back converter can be employed as the selected power module in case of modular topologies. In this paper a modular architecture is adopted to get high power level with up four Back-to-Back converter units. The focus of this paper is on the grid side of the Back-to-Back converter. The investigated control strategy is the Adaptive Hysteresis Band Control. A method for power quality improvement is proposed. Simulation results with different active and reactive power loads are provided as well as current and grid voltage harmonic analysis at the point of common coupling. The performances are analyzed for operation with 1,2 3 or 4 power converter modules connected in parallel.
