This paper presents the basic-symptom theory. Developed by Gerd Huber since the Fifties, it tries to empirically explain the pathogenesis of full-blown psychotic symptoms (K. Schneider's "first-rank symptoms"). Basic-symtpoms are substrate-close, disturbing subjective experience phenomenologically described.
