La produzione laminare delle industrie litiche Lagozza del sito di Tosina di Monzambano (Mantova): sistemi tecnici e materie prime

The goal of this work is to present the blade production system and the raw materials exploitation strategies at the Late Neolithic site of Tosina di Monzambano. The study of the chipped stone assemblages reveals the existence of a chaîne opératoire with a high technical investment aimed at the production of good quality blades and bladelets. This kind of production system denotes close links with that of the Late Chassey Culture of southern France suggesting a similar distribution networks model (the silex blond Bedoulien distributed over a wide area of the south of France and beyond), from the production sites (in Lessini and surroundings) down to the consumer sites (located in the Po Plain) furthest from the original source of raw material.
