In 1973, in his role as director of the Regional Institute for the Protection of Monuments, Oton Jugovec designed the floating roof for the archaeological findings at the chapel of Saint Michael in Otok pri Dobravi, in Lower Carniola. Working with type, archetype and space, the Slovenian architect erected a new, iconic ‘cabin’ that emanates the force and purity of a poem written for this land.
