«Sulla mia bandiera c'è scritto il tuo nome». Lettere di Giorgio Padoan a Bruno Nardi sull'interpretazione di Dante

Il contributo pubblica il carteggio inedito tra Giorgio Padoan e Bruno Nardi relativo agli anni 1965 (anno del vii centenario dalla nascita di Dante) e il 1967 (anno del concorso istituito per la neonata cattedra di Filologia dantesca presso l’Università di Firenze). Dal breve carteggio emergono gli elementi fondamentali che i due studiosi condivisero nell’interpretazione della Commedia: un poema ispirato da una visione divina che il poeta ritiene di avere realmente goduta; emergono inoltre le divergenze circa l’interpretazione e l’attribuzione a Dante dell’intera Epistola a Cangrande. This article publishes the unknown correspondence between Giorgio Padoan and Bruno Nardi relating to the years 1965 (the year, which marked the 7 th centenary of Dante’s birth) and 1967 (the year of the competition set up for the newly created professorship of Dante’s Philology at the University of Florence). The brief correspondence sheds new light on the fundamental elements that the two scholars shared in their interpretation of the ‘Commedia’: a poem inspired by a divine vision that the poet believed he actually enjoyed. The letters also let emerge the differences between the two scholars in the interpretation and attribution to Dante of the entire ‘Epistle to Cangrande’.
