Il passaggio da Esclusa 1901 a Esclusa 1908 ha mostrato come un romanzo nato dal terreno del naturalismo possa essere convertito all’umorismo. Il turno e Lontano, invece, pur preservando i loro caratteri originali, sono inseriti in un nuovo progetto librario. Nell’edizione Treves del 1915 i due racconti consegnano al lettore l’unione di riso e pianto. I due testi, dunque, compongono un’unità complessa, nutrita dalle rispettive differenze, quasi un unico racconto in due tempi e dalla doppia faccia, «gaja» l’una e «triste» l’altra. The transition from Esclusa 1901 to Esclusa 1908 showed how a novel born from the soil of naturalism can be converted to humorism. Il turno and Lontano, on the other hand, while preserving their original characters, are included in a new book project. In the 1915 Treves edition, the two tales offer to the reader the union of laughter and weeping. The two texts compose a complex unity, nourished by their respective differences, almost a single tale in two stages and with a double face, 'joyful' the one and 'sad' the other.
