Matrice sacra dell’eremo tra interiore e infinito

This paper proposes a reflection on the value of the sacred space of the hermitage and a stylistic and typological comparison of models that have characterised the evolution of its image. The hermitage is designed for suggesting a specific relationship between the hermit and the territory; the spiritual link, which becomes landscape or formal structure, qualifies a sacred space which goes beyond boundaries in order to connect the cell and the cave to the land, the world and the cosmos.
