The contribution deals with the emerging issue of the trans-port of medical equipment through the use of technologi-cally innovative containers - payloads. The comparison with the reference scenario highlights the need to develop new solutions that are especially useful in emergency and ur-gent contexts such as the impossibility of moving patients, the inaccessibility of healthcare facilities, and high-risk op-erating conditions. In this perspective, the SMOX® project, born from the convergence of biomedical, engineering and design skills, aims to preserve the transported bio/synthetic material, protecting it from external compromising factors such as time and temperature, which represent a danger for the whole healthcare chain, from the analytical phase to the health of the individual.
