The work of director Jacques Feyder has fallen completely into oblivion as has that of his wife, the actress Françoise Rosay. The article aims to contribute to the resumption of studies on the couple’s cinema, analyzing the experience of a course for film actors at the Geneva Conservatory between 1941 and 1945, in which the two alternated as teachers. This experience is interesting for its precocity - at the time the only other course was that of the Experimental Center of Cinematography in Rome - but also for the program, theoretically based on the concepts of photogenia and phonogenia and technically on acting mediated by mechanical devices. The training approach adopted in Geneva reflects Feyder’s idea of cinema, embodied by Rosay as an interpreter.
