Aim of this work is to Development of blue economy involves the construction of marine infrastructures (harbors, marine wind farms, underwater data centers etc.) for which a precise knowledge of geological bottom properties is needed. For nearshore and very near shore application the most common solution is represented by the adoption of fixed Jack up platforms, however transportation and deployment of this kind of infrastructures it’s not so fast and so easy, also the adoption of floating drilling technologies that are currently adopted for offshore application it’s often difficult or impossible. In this work it is proposed a compact underwater drilling platform specifically designed for near shore and very nears shore applications that it is designed and optimized for a rapid deployment in different operational conditions. This work is focused on the description of this innovative solution and on simulation models that have helped the design team to properly simulate and size the system.
