If you take a look in Pub-Medline by typing “MRI AND Diffusion Imaging” you will find over 70,000 titles with increasing frequency over the years. However, as far as we know, many radiologists, in particular operating in the body imaging, distrust the information inferable from the Diffusion weighted Imaging (DwI). This same distrust was probably perceived by Le Bihan himself, driving him to coin in a 2008 editorial on Radiology1 a nice playful aphorism, with which some of his colleagues mocked him friendly: “diffusion, perfusion. … confusion.”

Abstract
If you take a look in Pub-Medline by typing “MRI AND Diffusion Imaging” you will find over 70,000 titles with increasing frequency over the years. However, as far as we know, many radiologists, in particular operating in the body imaging, distrust the information inferable from the Diffusion weighted Imaging (DwI). This same distrust was probably perceived by Le Bihan himself, driving him to coin in a 2008 editorial on Radiology1 a nice playful aphorism, with which some of his colleagues mocked him friendly: “diffusion, perfusion. … confusion.”File | Dimensione | Formato | |
