This work explores the relationship between INVALSI scores and students’ mobility, referred to the decision of enrolling in a university distant more than two hours drive from their hometowns. Through data drawn from the Italian Student Register for the cohort of graduates in Italian High Schools during the school year 2018/2019 – and enrolled in the Tertiary Education system in the academic year 2019/2020 – we estimate a Logit model for the decision of being a mover. The INVALSI scores in Italian language and Mathematics emerge as positively correlated with the decision of moving.
