Per natura o per nascita: la fissazione moderna del confine

Racism is a specific device of natural boundary fixing and hierarchization of human groups in which the personal talents, practical attitudes and ethical qualities of individuals are deduced from their belonging to a human group defined on a basis that is believed to be biological. The thesis of the contribution is that the 'ordering', discriminating, excluding effects of racism are today mainly carried out - and much more insidiously - by another type of border fixing that does not look at biological nature, but at birth (nativism). If racism has turned out to be scientifically unfounded, nativism, as an image of the world (Weltbild), is, on the other hand, something that cannot be falsified because it does not claim to be scientific, but is configured as a way of looking at the world that is also a way of building the world.
