The performance of Ground-Based Synthetic Aperture Radar (GBSAR) systems significantly varies with the operative frequency band. For instance the signal coherence, which provides important information on the radar signal quality, drastically changes with the frequency band. Aim of this study is to deepen the relation between the coherence of GBSAR signals and atmospheric parameters, in different frequency bands, on environmental scenarios. In this work we show results obtained from the analysis of GBSAR data in three different frequency bands, S, C, and Ku, acquired throughout a one-year experimental campaign performed on a vegetated tailings dam. The extensive data set acquired allowed us to extract useful information on the trend of coherence, as the signal frequency and the environmental parameters varied.
