Piano per l’eliminazione delle barriere architettoniche a Sogamoso (Col). Un progetto di ricerca definito nell’ambito di una esperienza didattica. Plan for the Elimination of Architectural Barriers a Sogamoso. A Research Project Defined in the Context of a Learning Experience

In Colombia, the Constitución Política provides for the principle of equality as well as the need for policies dedicated to people with disabilities: as happens in other countries, however, the policies on the subject do not depend by social sensitivity but are strongly conditioned by the public budget. The city of Sogamoso, in the Department of Boyacà, with the aim of adopting a plan of elimination of architectural barriers turned to the Universidad de Boyacà, which started in collaboration with the Universities of Florence and Roma Tre, a specific research and didactic-training path. The contribution presents the results, nearing completion, of the research obtained with the production of tools expressly dedicated to solve common environmental criticalities in Colombian cities, seeking operational technical awareness among public officials, teachers, researchers and students (future designers). In particular, the results of the research activity carried out will be described analysis tools (survey forms accompanied by specific checklists aimed at identifying obstacles and barriers), project (according to the principles of Universal Design) and verification (quality control datasheets). Such results have been produced in the dress by design laboratories to strengthen useful concepts and tools to overcome the conditions of environmental conflict and therefore a reduce the existing urban and social segregation towards people with physical, sensory and cognitive impairment.
