Il rilievo per la conservazione dei monumenti: il cantiere di restauro del Tabernacolo di Lupo di Francesco nel Camposanto Pisano

The contribution concerns the description of documentation and restoration methodologies for the Tabernacle of Lupo di Francesco at the entrance of the Camposanto Pisano. This project was carried out in collaboration between the Department of Architecture at the University of Florence and the Opera Primaziale Pisana. The operations included the use of reality-based methodologies, with range-based and image-based instrumentation, to create high-quality digital surveys with adequate definition for detailed mapping of the surface deteriorations observed directly on-site, thus enabling the planning of subsequent restoration interventions. The restoration of the Tabernacle of Lupo di Francesco allowed for the recovery of the legibility of surfaces largely covered by biological growth. Furthermore, during the construction site, historical interventions on the monument were identified, and data from archival documents were compared with those obtained in situ from materials and workmanship marks.
