Abstract
Starting from a repertoire of drawings of feathered headdresses and horse bards conserved in the Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe of the Pinacoteca Nazionale in Bologna, the contribution reflects on the costumes of 17th-century Bolognese knightly festivities. The one hundred and fourteen watercolours, partially attributed by Giovanna Gaeta Bertelà to Baccio del Bianco, is compared both with other iconographic evidences – such as the enigmatic canvases with Carousels of the Conservatorio delle Putte del Baraccano (1610-1611) or Giovan Battista Coriolano’s engravings for Amore prigioniero in Delo (1628) – and with manuscript and printed sources such as the treatise Il torneo by Bonaventura Pistofilo (Bologna 1627) and Il giuoco de Cavalieri by Berlingiero Gessi (Bologna 1671).I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
