Restaurare modernamente. Interventi settecenteschi all’oratorio di San Sebastiano nel complesso monumentale della SS. Annunziata di Firenze attraverso i documenti dell’archivio privato della famiglia Pucci

This contribution describes the restoration interventions carried out on the oratory dedicated to San Sebastiano in the monumental complex of the SS. Annunziata of Florence during the eighteenth century. Through the analysis of historical documents, the study investigates the conceptions and methods of intervention applied in the restoration works in eighteenth century and traces a history of the restorations of the case-study which is significant for the understanding of architecture in its current characteristics and is useful for the orientation of future conservative interventions. From a methodological point of view, the reconstruction of the restoration interventions was carried out through the direct analysis of architecture with the results of the documentary investigation conducted in the private archive of the Pucci family which historically holds the patronage of the chapel.
