Silenzi editoriali italiani: il caso di Audre Lorde

The voice of a gen-eration of women who see the struggle for gender rights being stifled by the struggle for race rights, Audre Lorde’s thought – well known in the United States and Germany in the 1970s and 1980s – did not find an immedi-ate editorial response in Italy. It was only in the 2000s, thanks at first to some translations made for the Bollettina published by Collegamento Lesbiche Italiane (Italian Lesbian Connection), that Lorde aroused a growing interest in the academic community of Italian gender studies, however, highlight ing the delay in the reception and thus publication of her works in translation.
