Abstract

Starting from the renewable, low-cost and easily available feedstocks, perfluorinated carbohydrate-based molecules and oligoamide/acrylic/silicon-based fluorinated molecules are synthesized and evaluated for easel painting restoration using their good hydrophobic properties. Prepared mock-ups were analysed be- fore and after treatments by FEG-SEM for morphological changes, spectro-colorimetric analysis for surface color variation and reversibility treatments were measured by SEM-EDX. Compared to DC6G900 as the reference, C-Glc-OH, a perflurinated β-dglucopyranose might be a promising agent for blanching easel painting restoration.
