The LBC English Corpus

To date, the English corpus for the LBC project is still under development and embraces a variety of text types – including works of fiction, essays, guides, technical writings – produced in a time span that extends from the sixteenth century to the present day. Indeed, a great variety of relevant samples is essential to form (cautious) generalizations; accordingly, the LBC corpora have all the same design and are articulated in the same set of sub-corpora, which, as far as the English language is concerned, will be balanced within themselves, but also balanced against one another in terms of size (within their particular sampling frame).
