Iord. Get. 151 mentions a certain Fabius / Favius, who described the harbour of Ravenna. The name of this author is attested as Fabius / Favius in the manuscripts of Jordanes, but Mazzarino corrected it in Flavius (Cassiodorus), a reconstruction which has been mostly accepted by following editors and translators. However, a comparison between the occurrences of Fabius / Favius and Ablabius in Jordanes’ manuscripts suggests to reconsider a conjecture of Mommsen, namely that the autor mentioned in Get. 151 should be identified with Ablabius.

Abstract
Iord. 151 should be identified with Ablabius.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
